|We move on to Psalm 11, which my study Bible describes as, ‘A confession of confident trust on the Lord’s righteous rule, at a time when wicked adversaries seem to have the upper hand.’|
This should be familiar territory to us from the Psalms we have looked at already, but super-relevant, because it is the reality of everyday for believers then, throughout history, and today.
The wickedness is described in vs.2-3. But the words of trust are scattered throughout the Psalm. ‘In the Lord I take refuge’ (v.1a), so I don’t have to follow the temptation to run away because of the wickedness (v.1b).’The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord is on his heavenly throne.’ (v.4)’For the Lord is righteous, he loves justice; upright men will see his face.’ (v.7)And so we can trust Him to act in a right way and at the right time (vs.5-6).
May all of us take refuge in the Lord, Father, Son and Holy Spirit today.
