Good morning everybody.
I was reading earlier this week in the Lent devotional book I am using the story of Zacchaeus, in Luke Ch.19 vs.1-10.
The is a lovely story, and a very familiar story to us, and yet the writer of the Devotional drew out fresh stuff for me to appreciate.
He wrote that as Jesus approaches Jerusalem and the Cross, this story ‘in some ways summarises the whole of Jesus’ ministry’.
The end of the passage says this, ‘The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.’ Jesus was seeking Zacchaeus. He knew where to look for him. And He found him.
He always does.
And because of what Jesus did Zacchaeus became a real believer, that is a repenting believer.
Let us pray that in the midst of these unprecedented times, the most unlikely people would respond to Jesus’ call and become real believers.
