Daily email from the Vicar Number 42

Firstly thank you for everyone’s concern about Daniel.  I collected him from A&E mid afternoon and after various tests they couldn’t find anything particularly untoward and hopefully the mega-faint was a relatively one-off.  He did have them occasionally in the past when he was growing up, but hadn’t had one like that for many years.  The timing wasn’t brilliant when it came to yesterday’s service, apologies about that, but thank you for those who took the initiative and carried on without me, though obviously the power point was lodged with me!
I’ll update news on others we have been praying for when I get it.
Our final reading in 2 Peter is Chapter 3 verses 10-18.
He writes about the Day of the Lord (verse 10), that is the 2nd coming of Christ, when the old heavens and earth will be destroyed and we will have a new heavens and a new earth, see Revelation Chapters 21 & 22 for a bit more detail.
We don’t know when this will be (come like a thief, verse 10), so we need to be ready and prepared, which is by living holy and godly lives (verse 11) and by making every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with Him (verse 14).
It is good to read that Peter thinks his teaching is in line with the apostle Paul’s (verse 15), but warns there are always folk around trying to twist and misinterpret the Scriptures for their own ends (verse 16).
Continue to pray for Rita, Mary and Daniel,
and from our extended church address list, please pray for some of those who have started coming more recently,
– Terry
– Sally
– Beatrix & family.
I’m having my usual day off tomorrow, so no daily email unless there is important news to share, and we’ll start something new on Wednesday.
Have a good week,
