Daily email from the Vicar Number 37

‘The sun comes up, it’s a new day dawning; it’s time to sing your song again.
Whatever may pass, and what ever lies before me, let me be singing when the evening comes.’
Sing it if you like…!
Our Bible passage today is 2 Peter Chapter 1 verses 12 to 21.
Peter thinks his time here on earth may be coming to an end (verse 14) and wants to help them as much as he can before he dies.
– He doesn’t mind, in fact he thinks it is good, that he keeps going over with them the basics of the Christian faith which they have heard before (verses 12-13).
Repetition is a good thing, because we so easily forget!
– The stories about Jesus are true, Peter was there, he was an eyewitness, and particularly mentions the Transfiguration (verses 16-18).
– The Old Testament prophecies are also true and not made up, and they are even clearer now, since they have been fulfilled in the coming of Jesus (verses 19-21).
Perhaps read again your favourite story in the Gospels, and may we all be strengthened in our faith today.
Continue to pray for those working in schools at this time, and for great wisdom for school leaders and education departments, as they think and plan what might be the next steps.
From our church address list, please pray for,
– Tina
– Derek and Joanna
