Daily email from the Vicar Number 32

Good morning.
First of all a little song I found on youtube based on the key verses from yesterday’s reading, ‘Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.’

And then today’s reading finishes off the letter, 1 Peter Chapter 5 verses 8 to 14.
It reminds us that we are in a battle, with a strong enemy, a prowling lion looking to eat us up.  And perhaps some of us in these strange times are feeling a bit under attack for all sorts of reasons.  The devil is looking to exploit our weak points.
So the apostle Peter instructs us to ‘be self-controlled and alert’ (v.8), to ‘resist the devil and stand firm’ (v.9), and to look to and trust ‘the God of all grace…’ (v.10).

Just a reminder of the link for tomorrow’s service at 11am, and that we are trying to have a communion in the home as well, so bring your own “bread and wine”.  It is obviously an even more symbolic way of doing it, but we hope and pray that it will be a spiritually helpful thing to do together.
