Daily email from the Vicar Number 1

I thought it would be good to try and stay in touch with each other and one way would be a daily email, with perhaps a Bible thought and some people to pray for.  The Leadership Council meeting last night thought this was a good idea.  Please share with other members of your family, if appropriate.

Some of the emails may contain additional helpful information, about services you can listen to or forms of prayer, but let me start with something simple.

One of the Bible passages which I shared last night with the Leadership Council was Philippians Ch.4 vs.4-7.  I seem to be coming across it in lots of different places.  I described it as a ‘gentle challenge’, because although the words are simple, it is not always easy to put them into practice.

‘Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again, rejoice!  Let your gentleness be evident to all.  The Lord is near.  Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.’

And then working through our church address list, taking 2 individuals or families at a time, please pray for today,

– Colin and Penny Ashby,

– Martin & Lucie Brown.
